Problem with submission by other team member

Postby dslate » Thu Feb 03, 2011 4:56 am

I've run into a problem regarding submissions by the other member
"pwf" of my team "Old Dogs With New Tricks". Since I am now working
primarily on the instruments track and he is working on the genres
track, and we are in different locations, I thought it would be
convenient if he could make submissions himself without having to send
them to me first. I didn't know if this was possible, but we tried
it, and he did succeed in making his own submission to the genres

Unfortunately both his best and my best submissions show up on the
leaderboard, even though they are both listed under the same team
name. It's as if he were a separate team from me that somehow has the
same team name but is otherwise unconnected. This doesn't seem

Can you help resolve this issue?

Hi dslate,

The team forming mechanism is not strictly formal. As you can see, its name can be changed at any time, so it's not something like a unique identifier. It is more like notifying the rest of the world that there are more people working on your solutions (who are also listed only by their names, not necessarily usernames). So what actually identifies the team is its leader, i.e. the user account it is associated with. The result is that when you and the person you cooperate with created teams associated with different accounts, they are regarded as distinct, regardless their names.

So the only advice I can give you is that you could create a new account especially for the team you are in right now and share it with the other members, so that each of you has access to it. Hope this helps :)
