Who?

TunedIT was started by Marcin Wojnarski at the beginning of 2008, as a PhD project carried out at University of Warsaw, Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, in cooperation with the Group of Mathematical Logic led by Professor Andrzej Skowron. It is now being developed by a constantly-growing team of data mining enthusiasts.

Marcin Wojnarski holds diploma in computer science and maths from University of Warsaw. His research interests concentrate around machine learning and data mining. His first amateur experiments date back to 12 years ago when he played with Kohonen networks and multilayer perceptrons in application to stock market predictions. Although at that time his algorithm did not make into production, Marcin gained valuable experience, which payed off in 2001 when he received the second award in the EU Contest for Young Scientists for his new model of a neural network, LTF-C. Afterwards, he participated in data mining contests organized by EUNITE, taking the 1^st place in two consecutive editions. For the last couple of years Marcin have carried out research related to neural networks, computer vision and scalable data mining, publishing 10 papers on these topics.

Sebastian Stawicki graduated from the University of Warsaw with two MSc degrees: in Computer Science and in Mathematics. He is currently a PhD student. Sebastian's research interests lay in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning and process mining. He has investigated the issues of outliers in data, as well as classifier boosting.

Piotr Wojnarowski is currently a Master's student of Computer Science at University of Warsaw. He holds bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Piotr's main interests lay in the area of functional and objective programming paradigms, he is also a fan of data mining.
